Don't want to be unecessarily gloomy BUT.....

Following the collapse of the Excel airline, there was an article in The Times Last week regarding the future of other european airlines. Apparently Air Berlin was the one which the "experts" considered the most likely to go bust next.

Obviously this is just speculation but it could be worth bearing in mind when you book an Air Berlin flight. In these uncertain times it is worth remembering that if you pay with a credit rather than debit card then you can at least get a refund if something happens.

Personally I like Air Berlin. Good prices and far superior service to Ryanair and Easyjet. Ok so they temporarily lost my bags once but so have several other airlines over the years.

Air Berlin offers direct flights to Faro. To Santiago they go via Palma. Direct flight Berlin - Faro for
example: 21th of September 2008, start 6.00 am - arrival 8.30 , both local times. Another direct
flight Berlin - Faro is 24th of September 2008 start at 14.45 .

the point is that the connection between Faro and Santiago is via Palma; there are no new flights in or out of Santiago with this announcement.
