Camping on the Vezelay route?

Postby Bridget and Peter on 01 Jun 2008, 18:44

Advice please
I've persuaded my manager to agree to a three week holiday this year (in September), so we are beginning to plan the next stage of our serial pilgrimage on bicycles. Having ended there last year we'll be starting at Reims, and aiming for Vezelay and beyond. One thought is to take a tent this year and camp most or some of the time. Does anyone know whether we are likely to find sites easily?
Once past Vezelay there will be some pilgrim accomodation, I know, and we are looking forward to meeting others - as we did at Abbeye de Leffe last year.

Any other gems of wisdom will be very gratefully received!

many thanks
Bridget
