Some nice old pictures from Vézelay *

Pilgrimage is of all people, faiths, sferes and ages - for hunters, gatherers and smorgasbordians:

I found some good pictures of Vezelay but couldn't find an explanation of "la colline eternelle" on:
http://www.art-roman.net/vezelay/vezelay8.htm (all capitals etcetera)
http://route.scouts-europe.org/La-Colline-eternelle
http://www.koodji.com/view/46/la-colline-eternelle video (good music)
http://gite298.free.fr/allemand/bourgogne/vezelay.htm
The word eternelle was often mentioned but never explained so I hope somebody knows!

Jezus for the first time in architecture depicted as a symbol of love;
that's why this is such a lovely and light house without dark corners

Here the link to the nicest blue hazy pictures is back and working:

See how amazingly small Vézelay sits there on its 'Colline éternelle'.
Still don't know why this mysterious hill is called eternal! Anybody?
