Camiños Naturais

Postby Peter Robins on 30 Jul 2008, 10:30

The Xunta plans to create several "Camiños Naturais", the first of which, along the Costa da Morte between Muros and Laxe, will incorporate the current Fisterra-Muxia route. AIUI, the existing route will be improved by replacing some tarmac sections and providing alternatives. The extensions will include other coastal villages such as Camariñas.

2 other paths will be developed as part of this program, including what they call the Ruta do Cantábrico, which will link Ribadeo with Cape Ortegal, and so provide an alternative to the Camino de la Costa, enabling people to go via the pilgrim shrine at Teixido to Ferrol, and hence the Camino Ingles.
