Last year we booked a 2 hour nocturnal tour of Santiago that starts at 10:30pm and costs 12 euro.
Our English speaking guide was a lovely woman who walked us through the little streets of Santiago's old town. The itinerary was:
Rúa do Vilar, Porta Faxeira, O Franco (street full of wine bars, “tapas” and restaurants), Fonseca , Avenida de Raxoi, Praza do Obradoiro, Hostal dos Reis Católicos (we visited the cloisters), San Martiño Pinario, Rúa da Troia (Casa de La Troya), Praza da Quintana (Berenguela clock tower and Holy Door), San Paio de Antealtares (Monastery and area of pavement cafés and clubs), Rúa Nova.
The tour ended in a club, with a popular ’queimada’ (flamed eau-de-vie).
It was a great way to see Santiago at night and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
