How to be in Foot Heaven

Postby notion900 on 12 Jun 2008, 21:58

Can I just rant on about this for a moment.... i saw some horrific :( sights on the camino last year, where people had 'toughened up' their feet by encouraging hard skin to form, then lo and behold, it cracked. These cracks hurt more than blisters and are a bugger to get to heal. I walked from St Jean to Santiago in one go with no foot problems: how? Using a Pumice Stone in the shower every few days and Foot Balm containing Urea (ask your pharmacist) most nights before bed. If I felt soreness while walking, I immediately stopped, sat down and put on a compeed and TOOK A REST. I did not walk with someone who was too fast for me, the other main cause of foot agony. Take note and be in foot heaven :D
