Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela

We actually arrived in Santiago last Wednesday- oh what a feeling. The description of meeting up again in Santiago with other pilgrimages you have seen along the way is indescribable. We had a wonderful pilgrimage and "Gracias a Dios" avoided most of the pilgrim related problems!!! Unfortunately we miss the festivities of July 24th by 2 days, but Santiago started celebrating with fireworks Friday (unfortunately we were in Finisterre) and has activities scheduled the 18th thru the 31st- can they ever party. There is live music until 3:00 am tonight and was last night too, with bands from all over the world! We saw folkloric dancing in one of the plazas by the cathedral before the concert- need I say more!!!
