International Congress Of Jacobean Associations

Postby Peter Robins on 20 Oct 2005, 10:08

For those who don't know, the VII Congress gets under way today in Ponferrada, entitled "The Way To Santiago, Bridge Towards The New Europe", with luminaries from Church (archbishop of Santiago) and state (president of Euro-Parliament) among others.

there's an amusing misprint in a report on this in todays Chronica de Leon http://www.elmundo-lacronica.com/cronic ... idcat=4034

The bishop of Astorga is actually called Camilo Lorenzo but it's printed as Camino Lorenzo :-)

interesting that 2 newspapers reporting on the same event can come up with 2 entirely different angles. Correo Gallego reports on a proposal for creating an international federation (which sounds like a good idea to me). Also quotes the archbishop warning against the Camino losing its soul (which implies that he thinks it is).
