May be off topic as it's not really to do with Santiago, but there's an article on Galicia's seedy side on the BBC's website http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4743451.stm

I saw this on local TV the other day. It was a "home-made" submarine they said (sumergible casero)

...someone took a few welding classes to get this thing finsihed :-)
