Pilgrims looking for a cheap convenient pension could consider Pension Residencia Nebraska owner julio Dieguez Santas. Rua do Rombal 41, 15705 Santiago de Compostela. phone 981 56 0935 :D nebraskajulio@yahoo.es. Rua Rombal is part of the road which runs around the perimeter of the old city. very close to everything-6 euro by taxi from the bus station - a tiny walk from the Cathedral and 30 euros per day without a bathroom forty euros per day with bathroom for two people(TOTAL) and that includes breakfast.

There are additional pieces of information which may be useful on accommodation and travel in Santiago.

1. We booked accommodation through booking.com at Hotel Area Central, cost was Euro 60.00 for 12th May and Euro 50.00 per day for the 13th and 14th May. This is a 3 star hotel, with local city bus stop in front of the hotel, and in one of the newest shopping mall in Santiago. Service and facilities more of 4 star. Clean large rooms with ensuite, picture windows, lifts, buffet breakfast room. 10 minute walk from inter-city bus stop. 20 minute pleasant walk to the Cathedral

2. Be very careful of taxis, we were cheated as the taxi driver took a circular road and cost us nearly twice as it should be.

3. Free maps are available at the bus stop and at the tourist offices.

4. Hotel discounts up to 70% off the rates in the CSJ book is available on the internet, a credit card is necessary and one need to be flexible on dates.
