Reminder: never leave valuables alone!

The camino is and has been a safe place to be, but lately there have been a few incidents. Have you heard of anything or experienced anything bad on your camino? Please remember to indicate the location of the incident.

Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd post this as a warning to other pilgrims. When I was walking the Camino Frances last month a man in my albergue got his money, his camera, and his ID stolen right off his bed while he was in the albergue common room. He was devestated, but luckily managed to continue on his trip. It could have been another pilgrim or just someone who walked in and knew that he/she had a good chance of finding something valuable. The police never found out.

Even though everyone seems safe and friendly and we really want to trust the people around us, remember not to leave anything alone. Just a little public service announcement for those still looking forward to what I'm sure will be a fantastic trip -- I know my Camino certainly was!
