what software are you using? Most home users (likely to be most of the users of this forum, I would have thought) will use the www via some ISP. The geolocators may well get the ISP's address and hence the country right, but are not likely to be very accurate for the actual end user's location, particularly where the isp uses dynamic ip addressing. Most of the ones I've looked at tell me I'm in London.

As for santiago-today, I doubt if it's in Santiago :)

I am using the new Google Analytics (http://www.google.com/analytics/).

I agree that the geo-location is not perfect, and that your location might be off. But on a world map this error-term becomes smaller.

The map is nice since it gives you a graphical look at our fellow visitors. If it is not 100% accurate, that's ok... it gives you an idea.
