Signs on the Caminos

Postby Guest on 15 Apr 2007, 13:48

I saw this sign in Spanish, with capital letters, somewhere on the Caminos:

IF YOUR GOD IS JEWISH, YOUR CAR IS JAPANESE, YOUR PIZZA IS ITALIAN, YOUR GAS IS FROM ALGERIA, YOUR COFFEE IS FROM BRASIL, YOUR VACATIONS ARE IN MORROCO, YOUR NUMBERS ARE ARABIC, YOUR LETTERS COME FROM LATIN...HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT YOUR NEIGHBOR IS A FOREIGNER?

Best,

Our Father Peregrino

Postby Guest on 21 Apr 2007, 14:58

I've seen diff versions of the "Our Father Peregrino." Am a terrible translator. I included the original version below, hoping someone can do a better job :!:

Our Father who art on the Caminos,
give us your encouragement
and watch over us pilgrims.
Thy will be done,
in the heat, the rain, or the cold.

Bless our Camino, daily,
lessen our suffering,
as we alleviate those who suffer.
Let us not fall into affliction,
and free us of all evil.

A peregrina.

Padre nuestro que estas en los Caminos,
venga a nosotros tu aliento
y vela por nos. los peregrinos.
Hagase tu voluntad
asi en el calor, la lluvia, o el
frio.

La ruta nuestra de cada dia
bendicela hoy.
Alivia nuestros desfallecimientos,
asi como tambien
aliviamos a los que desfallecen.
No nos dejes caer en la affliccion
y libranos de todo mal.

Una peregrina.

Good translation, xm, wish I had known this when I was on the camino.
