This month it has rained every day in Santiago de Compostela, and we have not seen much sun at all.
This morning I heard on the radio that:
- It has rained more in May 2008 than in the whole of 2007 in Santiago de Compostela.
- It has not rained as much in May in almost 100 years as it has this May.
- It is 15 years since we have seen less sun in May.
- In May 2008 we had rain 23 days in a row!
Are you depressed yet? No?
El Correo Gallego reports that “if it rains today we will have a record”. By the way it has rained all day… and indeed I think we have a record. Mid day yesterday Santiago had collected 168 liter/square meters this month, and with the rain today…

We have had good weather intermittently here in Rochester New York with rainy cold days and sunny days. We had a nice day last Monday and took advantage of it going on a nice ride. Here are some pictures from that ride http://diegopereda.wordpress.com/2008/06/04/from-fairport-to-genesee-valley-park/

This is not good news. I live in Oregon where it seems to rain all the time and I will be in Spain for a month this fall. What has kept be going through this winter is dreaming about warm, sunny days in Spain…I fear that luck will be such that this record rainfall continues and I end up with long, cool, wet days…however, I’ll be in Spain so that is still better!

I walked the Camino in May and yes, it rainned every day but 2… I don’t remember a time when we’ve had so much rain. Next time I go to El Camino it will be in July!
Anyway, I loved it and I would change a thing, not even the weather!
